The out-of-body experience that followed started with looking at myself from above, hovering above the bed looking down at me. I pictured me seperate not like a mirror image but like I was some other person looking at me. I was lying in bed in the center of Center Street, Milford, Connecticut feeling it was the center of the Universe. Being ten years old or less it frightened me but in a good way. After a while I didn't even have to work at it I just pushed a button in my mind that was labeled 'The Big Question.'
I was aided in my flight to the outer limit by my foldup bed that had metal brackets on the side that acted as control rods. They hung loose on the side when the bed was not folded upright for storage. I think astral travel is unlearned as we get older. The wallpaper in the little closet of a room that was my bedroom was green and had images of different animals tuck almost invisibly like the find-the-hiddenobjects puzzle in the Sunday paper. They were my friends.
